Challenge
Thermal imaging of gas flows requires uniform, stable thermal radiation sources. Commercial black body calibrators are small and expensive. Create large-format source with precise temperature control, excellent uniformity, and near-ideal black body characteristics at reasonable cost.
Solution
Large-format thermal radiation system (A2 size) achieving near-ideal black body characteristics through optimised surface treatment and thermal mass design. Uses industrial-grade components for safety certification and reliability, with custom integration of heating, sensing, and control systems. The design priorities temperature stability and spatial uniformity over heating speed, matching the requirements of long-duration scientific imaging applications.
